How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.

The Jack Nicholson and Nancy Storrs Boathouse Project will strengthen Canada's amateur sport system by providing athletes with access to high-quality training infrastructure that supports long-term athlete development. The facility will create opportunities for increased participation, improved coaching delivery, enhanced athlete performance, and expanded hosting capacity for training camps, regattas, and development programs. By supporting athlete pathways from grassroots participation to national and international competition, the project will contribute to the growth and sustainability of amateur rowing and paddling across Canada. The boathouse will also help attract and retain participants, support volunteer development, and serve as a hub for collaboration among athletes, coaches, clubs, and sport organizations, creating lasting benefits for the Canadian amateur sport community.
