Project Description
The Ottawa Rowing Club Fund is a permanent, multi-purpose initiative designed to sustain and grow the operational and developmental capacity of one of Canada's oldest and most storied amateur sports organizations. This fund serves as the central repository for general donations and community giving. Unlike project-specific funds, this "Evergreen" fund provides the flexibility to allocate resources where the need is greatest.
The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):
Equipment Acquisition & Maintenance: The purchase of shells, oars, ergometers, and coaching boats, as well as the ongoing repair of existing equipment.
How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.
The Ottawa Rowing Club has the potential to serve as a pipeline for the Canadian National Rowing Team. By maintaining a robust general fund, the ORC ensures that the Daily Training Environment meets the high standards required to develop athletes for events like Royal Canadian Henley, and teams like Canada's National Team, on the national or international stages.
