London Junior Mustangs Youth Football Access

Project Description

The London Junior Mustangs are expanding their youth football program to serve approximately 500 kids, including girls' tackle and flag football. This fundraising project will reduce financial barriers by supporting registration costs, training, equipment, transportation, and coaching for all participants. By making football accessible to more youth, we foster community engagement, safe sport participation, and athlete development. Funds raised will directly enhance grassroots football, ensuring all youth have the opportunity to participate, grow, and progress through the sport.

The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):

The proceeds from this fundraising will support the London Junior Mustangs football program by covering registration fees, providing equipment, supporting athlete transportation, and enhancing coaching and training. This will allow us to expand to serve around 500 youth, including new opportunities in flag football, and make the sport more accessible to girls and all marginalized youth. By reducing these barriers, we promote an inclusive, safe, and community-focused environment that fosters amateur sport development.

How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.

This project promotes amateur sport nationally by expanding grassroots football participation and ensuring youth have access to structured training, coaching, and competition. For over 15 years, the London Junior Mustangs Football Program has supported athlete development pathways, with alumni including Sydney and Chase Brown from the NFL, Taylor Elgersma at the university level, and athletes such as Robert Panabaker, Sage Dockstader, Daniel Valente, Spencer Nichols, Zachary Fry, and Dylan Giffen progressing to the CFL and higher levels of amateur sport. Expanding participation to approximately 500 youth, including girls' tackle football and enhanced flag football programming, strengthens long term athlete development and supports progression into higher levels of sport across Canada. In addition, the London Junior Mustangs Football Program advances coach development through training and mentorship opportunities that build leadership capacity within the amateur sport system and contribute to sustainable growth at both provincial and national levels.
