9th End Lounge Update
Project Description
The Hamilton Victoria Curling Club is looking to update its key social area, the 9th End Lounge. First built in the 1970s, this lounge serves as the heart and soul of the club, where members mingle, share stories, and swap curling strategies before and after games. Additionally, many of the club's off-ice events take place in the 9th End Lounge for our members. The lounge has not seen an update in many years, and is in deep need for a renovation. The club is looking to update the aging flooring, repair and re-paint the interior walls, update the bar facade, and supply new furniture so that the lounge remains a functional, comfortable, and welcoming place.
The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):
Fund renovation supplies, such as new flooring, paint, furniture, and bar facade
How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.
Established in 1867, The Hamilton Victoria Curling Club holds the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating sporting organization in the city of Hamilton. With over 400 active curlers from Hamilton and surrounding areas, our club posses a vibrant and welcoming community with a mission to make Community through Sport. HVCC hosts many well recognized bonspiel events that draw in teams from the region, province, and beyond! The club is passionate about making curling for everyone and is proud to showcase the Out on The Ice Hamilton, and Special-O leagues as concrete steps towards this goal. Upgrading of the 9th End Lounge will help continue to make our club a gathering place for community and sport.
