Chiller Bundle Installation

Project Description

The Ridgetown Curling Club is replacing the chiller bundle and its components as it has more than reached the end of its useful life. We believe that the current chiller bundle is about 40 years old.   The chiller is a key component for making and maintaining ice and without it, the curling club cannot operate.

The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):

Funds will be used for the chiller installation. The quote for the replacement is $63,900.00 plus HST for the equipment and installation. To date the club has raised $35,000.

How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.

The Ridgetown Curling Club offers the community an opportunity to be active in the winter months. Lately we have noticed an increase in interest in curling. The physical and social activity of curling is beneficial for all ages. We offer low-cost programs for the youth from ages 5 and up.  In addition, we have leagues for beginners and experienced curlers. Those with reduced mobility can curl with a curling stick.  We host the local high school curling teams for practice and games at no charge to them. Curling is offered to schools and community groups including youth groups at a minimal charge. Free lessons are available for beginners as well as experienced curlers. All skill levels and abilities are welcome to join, and we offer reasonable membership rates. Equipment needed to participate is minimal and we offer a rental program for those wanting to try it out. On average we have 100 members for the season - November to April.
