Drive to December
Project Description
"Drive to December: Fueling ONPARA, Powering Possibility"
The Ontario Para Network (ONPARA) is launching Drive to December, a province-wide fundraising campaign aimed at supporting athletes with disabilities and growing adaptive sport across Ontario. The campaign will run until December 31, 2025, and seeks to raise $40,000 to support ONPARA's core programs and services, which promote participation, development, and excellence in wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, and wheelchair tennis.
Funds raised will help ONPARA:
Deliver community and school outreach programs that introduce adaptive sport to new participants
Provide accessible equipment, coaching, and program support for grassroots and high-performance athletes
Offer training and competition opportunities for athletes with disabilities at all stages of the development pathway
Support club-level delivery and local sport infrastructure across Ontario, with ~25% of proceeds reinvested directly into participating clubs
This campaign is essential in light of recent reductions in government funding and increasing challenges in securing private sponsorship. "Drive to December" will engage donors, clubs, partners, and the broader public in a coordinated fundraising effort to ensure the sustainability of ONPARA's impact.
All donations made through the NSTF platform will directly support eligible amateur sport initiatives aligned with our mission of building an inclusive, accessible, and empowering parasport system in Ontario.
The proceeds from this fundraising will be
