Coach Development Support
Project Description
The Coach Development Support project will help enhance a number of CAO programs such as but not limited to:
Coach2Coach Mentorship Program - provides coaches an incredible opportunity for both apprentice and mentor coaches to learn. This coach mentorship provides an emphasis on supporting those who belong to equity deserving community groups such as, BIPOC coaches, Coaches with disabilities, Female coaches, Indigenous coaches, LGBTQIA2+ coaches, Newcomer Canadians, Para sport coaches. The program includes 1-to-1 mentorship match: work with a mentor who can help you identify goals, & work through challenges you're experiencing.
Free professional development workshops: work on your NCCP pathway and receive access to exclusive seminars and courses.
Honourarium & coaching tools/resources: receive a financial support towards professional development and NCCP training, coaching equipment and accessories.
Community Coaching Grant - provides eligible coaches and their respective organizations an opportunity to apply for support needed to keep the costs of sport affordable, accessible and most importantly safe for all those involved. This program supports coaches needs for safety training (i.e., NCCP training, other safety focused training either eLearning or in-person, consultant/speaker delivering a workshop)
New equipment for your team to replace outdated and unsafe equipment (i.e., replacing mats/nets/racquets/balls/sport specific equipment needed for safety purposes such as gloves, pads, helmets, etc.)
Any other expenses that you can demonstrate directly contribute to safe sport environment.
The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):
Supporting apprentice coaches growth and development.
Support mentor coaches growth and development as well as responsibilities in supporting the apprentice coaches in their journey.
Grants for coaches that support safety in the daily training environments.
How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.
Enhancing coaches skills will directly impact the experiences of all athletes and in Canada through quality coaching. Quality coaching is vital to the success of athletes in the amateur sport system. The coaches of today are producing the athletes of tomorrow that will represent our country on the national stage.
