Thunder Bay Rowing Club Revitalization

Project Description

Vision 2030
Looking ahead, but informed by our history, the TBRC wants to build a stronger club on our
solid foundation as both a community centre and an elite training facility. We want to
introduce more people to the sport of rowing and to the Kaministiquia River while elevating
our status as a nationally reputed club able to produce lifelong rowers and elite athletes.
The purpose of this statement is to clarify a vision, agreed upon by the TBRC Board, that
guides our collaborative efforts. Novices, competitive athletes, parents, and volunteers will
all need to pull together to reach targeted milestones along the pathway to achieving our
vision of a strong club ready for its second century of rowing. Achieving our vision for a
revitalized club means setting new goals for membership.

The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):

Hiring of a head coach/staff
More serviceable boats/equipment
Increased operating costs to support growth in rowers

How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.

The TBRC is inclusive and community driven, but we also want to see our rowers
competing at the highest levels. We will profile/promote former rowers who made it to the
national stage, and we will support and encourage competitive rowers to strive for the top.
