Blues Rugby Development and Excellence Fund

Project Description

The project is to raise money to help cover ongoing, and ever increasing costs to support local and high performance rugby and players in the central Ottawa region. The fund will be used to offset facilities cost, field rentals, equipment, scrum machines, balls and the cost of sending players to provincial finals, representative programs that many players do not have the funds to cover, on top of their club dues.

The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):

TERP Cash call to pay for facility repairs. Scrum machine repairs, hit pads, rugby balls. Player rep fund for those requiring help paying registration and travel costs. Field lease and rental fees, winter dome training and try rugby facility costs and promotion fees.

How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.

The project is to help grow and develop the program offered to youth rugby in the city. It will help us provide a stable, well equipped and coached program to develop players to their potential. Equipment such as hit bags, balls, tackle suits, scrum machines, post pads as well as field rentals are crucial to providing a consistent program offering to our community. We also run a winter program to allow players to develop over the off season so they can perform at their peak. The cost of some rentals is expensive but very important.
