Everyone Can Row

Project Description

Everyone Can Row is a project driven by the Ottawa Rowing Club. Our goal is to get as many people, from all ages and abilities, rowing and rowing successfully at whatever level they aspire to reach. In order to do this we need an infrastructure of people, facilities and equipment. Our goal is to raise funds to purchase the tools we need and add the human resources necessary to meet our goals. Your financial contribution will help us increase the number of people we can serve and help broaden the diversity of people rowing at the ORC and the club's capacity to serve its local community.

The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):

The proceeds from this campaign will be used to ensure Canada's longest continually operating rowing club can continue to provide masters, competitive, recreational, youth and learn-to-row programs for the National Capital Region. This will include funding the procurement of new rowing shells, oars, rowing machines and coach boats and motors as well as supporting our various rowing programs. The project will also enable us to employ and train coaches to run our programs and to give members the best rowing experience possible.

How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.

Ottawa Rowing Club provides rowing programs for people ages 12 and up in the Spring, Summer and Fall. Athletes start in our Youth program, proceed on to High School Rowing, Club Rowing and then Adult Master programs. The club has a long history of developing athletes who have represented Canada at both the junior and senior level, including many who have competed at the Olympics and Paralympics. This project will help ORC create an ideal environment in Ottawa for both life-long rowers who wish to maintain a healthy lifestyle as well as developing high performing athletes who can represent Canada in international competition.
