COVID-19 Sustainability

Project Description

The WCC is facing two imminent and substantial financial burdens. First, due to COVID-19, the Club will  realize a significant financial operating loss in fiscal 2021, if not fiscal 2022. Second, our facilities Chiller will require replacing in the next few years. The current replacement quote is $125,000 and it is not only an operational, but also a safety necessity.

Having effectively navigated through the COVID pandemic, our aging facility is need of a new Chiller, Condenser and Dehumidifier by 2024-25 at a replacement quote of over $300,000. This is not only an operational need, but also a safety necessity.

The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):

Donation proceeds will be applied to offset 2021 and 2022 operating deficits with any addition funds allocated for the Chiller replacement.

How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.

The WCC has been in operation since 1948. During that time our Junior program has initiated, trained and supported thousands of young curlers that have curled recreationally and competitively across Canada.
