Dixie Curling Club Operating and Capital Fund Project

Project Description

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent closure of the Dixie Curling Club for the entire 2020-2021 season, we will be expecting a significant deficit this year. The loss will affect our ability to maintain, repair, and replace capital items in the club. With this project, we will be seeking funds from members and other supporters to limit the amount of outside borrowing to cover upcoming operating expenses and to ensure the long-term viability of the club.

The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):

This project will offset reduced revenues by covering fixed and variable operating expenses in addition to increasing our capital expenditure fund. A purchase required prior to the 2021-2022 season is a new ice scraper and blade at an estimated cost of $14,000.

How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.

Established in 1956, Dixie Curling CLub is a member driven club that runs Little Rock, Junior, Special Olympics, and Learn to Curl programs in addition to recreational and competitive leagues in Mississauga. Dixie is a proud member of the Toronto Curling Association (T.C.A.) and our Provincial Association CurlON and commits to hosting events for both associations. The foundation of any sport starts at the grassroots level where the skill is taught and the love of the game becomes ingrained. Dixie welcomes curlers of all ages and abilities and supports individuals and teams that desire to achieve success at the Provincial or National Level.
