COVID 19 Campaign NGCC
As a result of COVID 19, the North Grenville Curling Club in Kemptville has a financial shortfall due to shutting down earlier than normal this past Spring and being unable to offer rental space this past summer. Like a number of sports clubs our revenue relies on membership and event dues and rentals. We cannot replace the income already lost. An appeal to members and supporters is necessary to ensure the club remains solvent.
The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):
Financial sustainability due to the loss of revenue during the pandemic. The funds will be applied to the fixed costs of our Reuben Street facility, thus ensuring we continue to provide recreational and competitive curling programs to the varying age demographic in the Municipality of North Grenville and beyond.
How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
This project will allow the North Grenville Curling Club to continue to provide recreational and competitive curling to everyone in our community. Our curling programs are a large part of the health and wellness of Seniors in our community. We also offer Youth Curling; including Little Rocks and Bantams as well as a school program for Grade 5 students. We also offer an Adult Learn to Curl program. Our Youth program is growing and allowing our younger curlers to compete in more local and provincial competitions. The NGCC's unique facility was the site of the 2016 World Curling Federation Sweep Summit which enabled the National Research Council and Curling Canada to analyze various broom heads. The NGCC hosts the Women's Fall Classic, a World Curling Tour event, attended by National and International curlers.
